Tomáš Žemla — Defragmentation // Vybraný projekt/Selected project

Projekt vychádza z krajiny v okolí autorovho bydliska - z polí, remízok, stromoradí a poľných ciest. Žemla v nej nepracuje s krajinou iba ako s námetom. Zaujíma ho jej štruktúra, premenlivosť a vzťah človeka k prostrediu, ktoré ho obklopuje.

Samotný názov Defragmentation odkazuje na proces opätovného usporiadania jednotlivých častí. V projekte sa táto myšlienka premieta do spôsobu, akým autor skladá obraz z množstva drobných bodov, čiarok a čiar. Vzniká tak charakteristická štruktúra, ktorá v sebe zachováva svetlo, atmosféru aj rytmus konkrétneho miesta.

Monografia vznikla pri príležitosti rovnomennej výstavy v Alšovej jihočeskej galérii a prináša širší pohľad na autorovu tvorbu aj na témy, ktoré sa v projekte stretávajú. Obsahuje texty siedmich autorov (Jan Čejka, Josef Maixner, Radka Nedomová, Dita Kozler, Martin Šulík, Michaela Terenzani, Pavol Weiss) a fotografickú dokumentáciu (Tomáš Žemla, Jan Čejka, Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, Isonative, Erik Michalčík).

KÚPIŤ

The project is rooted in the landscape surrounding the artist’s home — fields, copses, rows of trees, and country paths. Žemla does not approach the landscape merely as a subject. He is interested in its structure, its changing nature, and the relationship between people and the environment that surrounds them.

The title Defragmentation refers to the process of rearranging individual parts. Within the project, this idea is reflected in the way the artist constructs an image from a multitude of small dots, dashes, and lines. This creates a distinctive structure that retains the light, atmosphere, and rhythm of a particular place.

The monograph was published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition at the Alšova jihočeská galerie and offers a broader view of the artist’s work and the themes that converge in the project. It contains texts by seven authors (Jan Čejka, Josef Maixner, Radka Nedomová, Dita Kozler, Martin Šulík, Michaela Terenzani, Pavol Weiss) and photographic documentation (Tomáš Žemla, Jan Čejka, Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, Isonative, Erik Michalčík).
